Q. What is Give Care?

Give Care is 24-hour online fundraiser for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. You can participate as an ambassador and easily text, email, or reach out on social media to your contacts and invite them to participate! Ambassadors create a personalized webpage, decide their personal fundraising goal, and invite friends and others to make a gift on May 16, 2024.


Q. When is Give Care?

Give Care is on May 16th, 2024 from midnight to 11:59 PM.


Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations through the Give Care online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be processed and receipted by GiveGab/Bonterra.


Q. What is GiveGab/Bonterra?

GiveGab, which is becoming Bonterra, is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab/Bonterra offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


Q. What payment forms do you take?

Contributions may be made via credit and debit cards and mobile payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Microsoft Pay. If you are making a donation by check, please mail checks made out to Planned Parenthood South Atlantic by Monday, May 6th to ensure delivery by the day of giving. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab. 


Q. How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?

GiveGab/Bonterra retains a 2% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and cannot be refunded. Any donations processed outside of the Give Care donation period through GiveGab.com, or subsequent recurring donations, are also subject to the transaction fees outlined above.


Q. Can I make my gift through stock or mutual fund on the Day of Giving?

Yes! Please send an email to events@ppsat.org letting us know that you wish to make a Gift of Stock or Mutual Funds form before 11:59 pm on May 6, 2024. Any stock or mutual fund transfers initiated on the Day of Giving will count toward the campaign. Here is information on how to make a gift of stock or mutual funds.


Q.  Can I recommend a gift from my Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) on the Day of Giving?   

Yes! Please send us an email at events@ppsat.org before 11:59 pm on May 6, 2024, confirming that you’ve recommended a gift to PPSAT for the Day of Giving and your donation will count for the campaign.


Q. Can I give through a charitable IRA rollover on the Day of Giving?

Yes! Please email us a copy of your letter requesting a charitable IRA rollover at events@ppsat.org before 11:59 pm on May 6, 2024, and your donation will count for the campaign. 


Q. Is there a minimum gift?

There is a $5.00 minimum donation 


Q. How much of my donation goes to Planned Parenthood South Atlantic? 


Credit card transactions and third-party processing fees will be deducted from each donation during the Day of Giving as follows:

  • GiveGab charges a 3.5% campaign management fee from all donations.  
  • Credit card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).   

Note that opting in to cover fees allows 100% of your gift to go to Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. The choice is yours, if you DO want to cover the fees, simply check the cover fees button  


Q. Is my payment secure?

Absolutely! Planned Parenthood South Atlantic Give.Care is facilitated by GiveGab/Bonterra, a company that has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through UniteforUSD.org. Read Stripe's security documentation online. 


Q. Can I restrict my gift to a specific community or program?

All gifts to Give.Care. will be considered unrestricted. Unrestricted gifts make it possible to provide vital support to our health centers, education, and advocacy programs across our four states and give us the flexibility to use the gifts where they are needed the most. Unrestricted support enhances the services we provide in each community, allowing PPSAT to be the best possible provider and partner in all areas of our work. 


Q. Who will receive my contact information? 

Planned Parenthood South Atlantic will have access to your name, gift amount, and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities. 


Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?

No. You do not need to create an account to make a donation. The benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering and donations. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record. 


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device??

Yes! Simply visit givecare.ppsat.org on your mobile device


Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for Give.Care?

If you wish to send in a pre-scheduled donation to Give.Care, it must arrive to our gift processing center by May 6.  

You cannot pre-schedule your Give.Care gift on the Give.Care website, but you can send in your donation via check, stock transfer, DAF to PPSAT’s gift processing center no later than May 6, 2024.  Please call 919-833-7526 ext. 6156 with any questions or for more information.

Q. Can I make an anonymous gift?

Yes! You can mark your gift as anonymous by checking the “anonymous” box on the donation form.
